Our Story

How It All Began

Michael was born and raised in Calgary, while Christine moved here from Grande Prairie during her senior year of high school. They met in the summer of 2017, when Michael was on a co-op term and Christine had returned from UBC to work for the summer. After spending several years in a long-distance relationship, Christine and Michael reunited in Calgary, where they settled into their first home together.

Christine matched into the internal medicine residency program here, and Michael has continued his career as a drilling engineer. They now share their home with their puppy, Bruno. Calgary has been a wonderful home base for them close to the mountains, and surrounded by friends and family.

Nestled on the rolling prairies just south of Calgary, The Saskatoon Farm offers a charming setting surrounded by beautiful gardens and wide-open skies. Both our ceremony and reception will take place here, so you only need to find your way to one stunning location.

Summer formal — think elegant, and late afternoon garden party. We kindly ask guests to embrace soft, romantic tones. Please avoid yellow and black, as it is reserved for our bridal party. Let the colours of summer inspire you! Here are a few examples to guide you:

Yes, children are absolutely welcome! We want your whole family to celebrate with us. Please include their names when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Free parking is available at The Saskatoon Farm. There is ample space on-site, and signage will guide you to the designated wedding parking area.
We kindly ask that you keep phones and cameras away during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present. Our photographer will capture every special moment, and we’ll share the photos with you after!
Yes, there will be a gift and card table at the reception entrance. While your presence is our greatest joy, any tokens of generosity are warmly welcomed and appreciated.
Please arrive by 4:00 PM to find your seat before the ceremony begins at 4:30 PM. This gives you time to settle in and soak up the beautiful surroundings.
